There is a waiting period of 30 days only after which date coverage commences. However, this rule is not applicable for accidents and they are covered from the very first day from policy issuance.

Pre-existing ailments – All pre-existing diseases are covered only after completion of the pre-defined waiting period which is usually 48 months.

Exclusion for Certain diseases – Certain diseases such as tonsillitis, hernia, piles, cataract, knee replacement, etc are covered after a waiting period of 12 – 24 months.
