BDC stands for batch data communication. We use BDC to transfer data from one SAP system to another. We can use BDC to transfer data from the non-SAP system to the SAP system. Mainly, DC is used to move vast volumes of data automatically.
Know that there are two types of BDC definitions: classical batch input and call transaction.
