A canonical issue occurs when there is duplicate content. If a website has more than one URL that displays similar or identical content, then it is considered a canonical issue and Google penalizes for such duplicate content.
A canonical issue can be fixed by the following two methods:
- Implement 301 redirect
- Add canonical tags to your website
