A BRD(Business Requirements Document) is formal contract in between organization and customer for a product. Below are the difference in between BRD and SRS:-
Basic of definitionBRDSRS
DefinitionBRD is one of the high-level functional specification of the software.SRS is one of the high level functional and technical specification of software.
Derived fromBRD is basically drived based on requirements and client interaction.SRS is derived from the BRS.
Creates onThe Business Analyst creates it after their direct interaction with the clients.The System Architect creates it as it needs technical expertise. Though sometimes Bas too can create it.
DocumentIt is a formal document to describe the requirement provided by the client (written, verbal)It describes the functional and non-functional requirements of the software to be developed
