Peak overshoot  of step-input response of an underdamped second-order system is explicitly indicative of

(a) Settling time

(b) Rise time

(c) Natural frequency

(d) Damping ratio

The question was posed to me during an interview.

This interesting question is from Construction of Phase-Trajectories in section Nonlinear Systems of Control Systems

Correct option is (d) Damping ratio

To elaborate: Peak overshoot refers to the damping of the system as if the damping id less than the peak will be more.
